In this article, we will see how to change port number of SQL Server on Linux platform.

Step1: Check current port number

First we will check current SQL Server port number and we see that SQL Server is listening on default port of 1433.

Step2: Change port number

Below command is used to change port number

/opt/mssql/bin/mssql-conf set network.tcpport <NewPort>

Step3: Restart SQL Service

SQL Server restart is required after port number is changed.

Step4: Verify SQL Server status

Step5: Verify Port Number
